So tell me about those 17 pounds again please?
More personal details.
My sister Robin just emailed me with some questions. Good time to revisit my personal story, not as the be-all-end-all of healthy transformations but just to serve as a bit of an example.
I'm really glad Robin is mildly interested in all this. She hasn't seen me lately (800 miles away) or she'd have picked up on it sooner, I reckon.
Last time Robin and I saw each other, I weighted 182 pounds. Family wedding, size 18 dress. And of course, I'd tried my best to lose weight before I went dress shopping. (Yikes! I'd never bought anything for a special occasion that was that big!)
Seven days after I started the detox, I was 17 pounds lighter. Honest. I was flabbergasted, because I hadn't been weighing myself. I felt much slimmer, but goodness! A size 10 again, sometimes even a size 8.
So how did I do this, anyway, my August 2009 metamorphosis?
Remember, I simply succumbed to yet another email from the Raw Divas about their 7-Day Detox. Oh, I'd gotten them before. Even the whole series… but I just hadn't actually participated in my own detox.
I felt so crummy this time around, though, and I would soon start keeping both William and Harrison a couple days a week. That really worried me, having enough energy to keep up with them!
The question from Robin that hasn't already been addressed is this one: What else did you do?
- Drank lots of filtered water.
- Followed the 7-Day Detox religiously. (Not hard to do.)
- Exercised (simply a 30-minute walk around the neighborhood).
On that last point, here's something to consider. I've heard 'diet and exercise' in combination before, but what I hadn't ever heard (or hadn't listened to) is that exercise is a prime way to rid your body of toxins.
I haven't done enough. Out the door for another walk and it's high time I figure out the code for that Fitness Center I'll walk right by…
